About us

#Hangout offers support, guidance, mentoring, group discussions, referrals for counselling and physical activities.

Who we are

#Hangout – Youth Health and Wellbeing is a youth group for rangatahi aged 11-18years. Our purpose is to provide a safe space for youth to relax, play sports, meet new people and receive support and guidance through the teenage years of their lives.

Hangout is open on Thursday nights 6:30-8:30pm at The Salvation Army, Fergusson Drive, Upper Hutt.

Our Story

#Hangout was established in March 2021 by a team of volunteers. Having a number of teenagers in our lives and watching their everyday struggles, our volunteers have a passion to support our tamariki through these years. With waitlists nationwide for access to counseling, we are available to help tamariki through this journey.

Our Mission

In supporting tamariki with access to free counseling, mentoring, building healthy relationships and providing opportunities for fun activities, we believe this will contribute to providing the youth of our community with a positive and healthy future.
