For parents

#Hangout offers support, guidance, mentoring, group discussions, referrals for counselling and physical activities.

Are you looking for something for your teenager? A place that encourages being active, provides the opportunity to make new friends, to feel supported, to build confidence, and encourages communication. If so, Hangout could be what you’re looking for.

Mental Health is an important part of Hangout. We have two trainee counsellors on the team and the support of Family Works Upper Hutt for anyone wanting counselling services.

All volunteers are police vetted and hold a current driver’s license.

Activities and fun nights are at no cost. Funds are donated to Hangout for events and Upper Hutt Businesses support us in many different ways with donations of equipment, food, and fun nights.

Hangout is a safe space for your tamariki to come and make new friends. The team are always happy to chat and discuss any needs or behaviors to support the family.
